IMPA Six Digit Code Copyright - Are you aware of the copyright rules?

The unique six digit code which is published jointly under agreement by IMPA and Fuji Trading Company in both book and data formats remains under copyright ownership of Fuji Trading Co., Japan.

IT companies, consultants and advisors should be aware that it is not possible to deliver systems with IMPA codes built in, unless you or your customers have entered an agreement with IMPA or it's exclusive agent ShipServ Ltd, otherwise this will breach copyright.

Breaching the copyright of the IMPA six digit code could also involve providing a cross reference system between the IMPA six digit code data and the ISSA Catalogue system. Both Associations are undertaking work to ensure copyright is maintained and not abused.
